Are you going to any live music events this year? I haven’t been to a festival or even a gig in about a year now, and really starting to miss it. The problem is that there don’t seem to be too many big bands touring at the moment although that will probably change as the year goes on.
A lot of people complain about the prices of gig tickets but I’m willing to pay around £50 to go to a good gig. Any more than that and it does become a bit of a rip off – no one should have to pay £100s just for a few hours of entertainment even if it is from a big band.
I think the problem is that most bands make the majority of their money from touring instead of music sales like they used to. This means that the record labels make them put the prices up to try and recoup their investment and make a profit. You can’t really blame them for doing that I suppose but they need to be careful not to price out fans without lots of spare cash.
I’ll keep the blog updated with any tickets I manage to get. I’d be interested in seeing the Foo Fighters this year if they’re touring, and I’m sure I’ll try to get tickets to one o the big festivals in the UK.
